Grand Orchard Opening

Mr. Mike Russell, our MSP will open our newly planted orchard in the Market Garden at 12.30pm Friday 24th February 2012 and the Pupils of Castlehill Primary School will be presenting their hard earned donation to CCOG to help buy wildlife food Our fruit trees were donated C/o John Hancock of 'Common Wealth Orchard', who were funded by Awards 4 All. FREE eating apples, pears, cooking apples, plums, cherry trees are being distributed by Jim Paterson of 'Tarbert and Skipness Community Trust'. The fruit trees are free for anyone to collect (delivery may be arranged). Castlehill pupils are presenting their cheque which will go toward our wildlife food bill and is much appreciated. Everyone is welcome and there is refreshments on offer (donations welcome) so come along and see how our Market Garden developments are moving ahead. Our Raspberry canes, planted last autumn, have made it through the stormy weather but sadly our polytunnel covers didn't but we have new covers thanks to our Common Good Fund and our insurance company. Our CCOG Watch TV will be open to watch the wildlife eating the newly replenished bird food, well worth a visit.
