Environmental Event

CCOG (and associates at Campbeltown's Volunteer Centre) worked with Kintyre Recycling, South Kintyre Development Trust with JIG Events and produced our Environmental Fair. This event took place at Campbeltown's Victoria Hall on Saturday, June 26th 2010 from 10.30am until 4.30pm. The Environmental Day gave you the opportunity to come along, listen to our 'experts' and put your questions directly to them in our presentations with Q and A sessions with further information available at the appropriate exhibition stands. There was a bio-degradable 'welcome pack' containing exhibitor's contact details and a prize draw with the winners satisfied with their prizes (the cake looked good enough to eat!). Free refreshments were served in and on compostable cups and plates and the grub was lovely, thanks to Argyll Bakeries. The smoothie bike kept you peddling, Kathleen painted lovely faces and you checked out your carbon footprint. A big thank you to all who put on the Environmental Fair and garden visits but a bigger thank you to all who called in and visited us on the day, We hope you enjoyed yourselves and found the information you were looking for. You can find more information on all things green at CCOG

Open Day and more!

We would like to wish all of our supporters a Happy Easter. At last spring as here...though it may not feel like it at the moment! The Garden is having its spring Open Day on April 14th from 11-3, all welcome for a day of Easter Egg Hunting, face painting, bug hunting and a raffle. Refreshments available. To be opened by a high-flying celebrity...Dylan the barn owl! We are still having our Sunday get-togethers in the garden on the last Sunday of the monthy between 1-3. Pop in for a cuppa and a chat, or help with one of the many exciting projects we have going on at the moment. The garden A.G.M. is being held at Aqualibrium in the conference room on May 8th from 12-1. The after school club are creating Campbeltowns first bug hotel, to encourage friendly garden critters, as part of the Year of Biodiversity.
